Heal My Space

My name is Penny Jellison and it has always been a passion of mine to make our family home a place of simple beauty and a space in which we can unwind and relax, but at the same time, a place to have fun. 

I have been a design consultant in the remodeling industry for over 15 years. I enjoy helping customers get the most out of their design dollars. I have degrees in art and education. I have continued my education in the arts of Feng Shui, Wabi Sabi, current design trends and practical organization. I am also an ordained Interfaith, Non-denominational ULC Minister and Reiki Master.

I created Heal My Space because during my years in the remodeling industry, I have found that people do not make the most of their spaces.  Home owners have often felt that they needed an addition or a complete remodel, when in essence, they only needed to make simple design changes to accomplish their goals.

It is difficult for many people to look through what they don't like about their spaces to see the beauty potential. Clutter has a nasty way of collecting negative energy and can become overwhelming. Our possessions are important to us and hold memories and document our life experiences. 

My goal is to help my clients make their homes a beautiful and harmonious place using mostly what they already own. I would love to hear from you and assist you in making your home a sanctuary!

What is Wabi Sabi?

Wabi Sabi is the Japanese artistic representation of Zen.  It originally was applied to create an ideal environment for meditation.  It currently is a design philosophy to help individuals shift a little closer to living in the moment by creating a harmonious and peaceful atmosphere in which to live. In short, Wabi Sabi is about finding the perfect in the imperfect. Heal My Space uses the concept of Wabi Sabi to help clients find the beauty and harmony in their own homes.

What is Feng Shui?

Feng Shui is the art of placement. Its premise believes an individual's state of mind and energy affects his/her environment (for good or bad) and that an individual's environment affects his/her internal state. True Feng Shui practitioners use a compass, find out clients' horoscopes and use eastern items to cure negative energy. Heal My Space uses the practical design cures of Feng Shui but in a way that is usually more applicable to our western culture.

What is Reiki?

The Japanese word Reiki (pronounced Ray Kee) is translated as "Universal Life-force Energy" or "Spiritual Energy." Rei means "Wisdom of the Higher Inelligence that guides the creation and functioning of the Universe (GOD) and Ki, that means "Life force energy, that flows through every living thing, as well as inanimate objects." Heal My Space uses the principles of Reiki to help with the flow of energy within and around spaces.
